I Blogged Everyday for 30 Days and this Happened…

Since I started this blog back in August of 2018 I never really posted consistently. I heard of some people blogging everyday for a year and it just made me realize how hard others are working. I couldn’t wrap my head around blogging everyday because I don’t know if I could think of a new topic every day. I usually blog when there’s something weighing heavy on my mind, but lately I was wondering if I should expand my blog to a lifestyle blog so I can have more things to talk about. Typically, I would blog about my journey of trying to reach success after college, but I thought I switch it up and branch out during this 30-day challenge. So I decided I would blog every day from October 1st to the 30th and let me just say it was hard. After the 20th day I was over it. It was a struggle trying to keep up with it. Everyone says consistency is key, so I wanted to see if it would show a significant amount of improvement.

Okay let’s dive right into my results. As you can see, there was a significant incline in the month of October compared to the other months, but it’s not what you think. The chart makes it look like there was extreme growth, but in reality, I worked 15 times harder for a few more likes and fifteen extra visitors than my last highest month. The chart is based off of views, but I feel that engagement (likes & comments) are more important when it comes to growing your blog. I will say that going into this experiment I didn’t expect much. Every time I researched people’s experience from doing this, most of them said the same thing. It’s like doing twice as much work for little gain, and I agree. I don’t think blogging every single day is necessary, but there should be more consistency. Sometimes I would skip a month or a few, but now I want to make sure that I upload at least 2 to 3 times a week.

Blogging everyday for the whole month of October didn’t do much for my blog, but it did a lot for me personally. I always considered blogging or journaling to be therapeutic, and by blogging my thoughts everyday I felt more Zen and at peace. Maybe it was because I was consistently releasing my thoughts. In a way it felt like journaling and I think I am going to add that into my daily routine. I’m obsessed with notebooks and have a ton of them, and I think it would be a nice addition to my day to help keep me balanced. I still enjoy blogging and tracking my journey and that’s why I will continue to do it. I just wanted to see what would happen if I blogged everyday for thirty days, and now I know. I do think I’m going to stick to writing things that has to do with my journey, but every now and then I probably would throw in a random topic just for fun. 😉 Do you blog every day? Or do you blog weekly? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Sunday!
